Keyboards and mice are marvelous inventions of the computer age and are generally unbeatable as peripherals or control interfaces. However, we can all agree that a mouse and keyboard setup is terrible for art. A more precise tool for a more elegant activity is warranted, and that’s where laptops with stylus pen models come in.
These laptop models are typically called 2-in-1 since they also function as tablets due to their touchscreen displays.
Of course, the more important part is that they come bundled with their own proprietary and problem-free stylus pen models. That way, you can draw or create some impressive digital visuals right out of the box.
The following laptops provide that and more.

Asus ROG Flow X13 Gaming
PROS
- Ryzen 9 CPU
- DDR5 RAM
- Good refresh rate
- AMD CPU is good for battery life
- Reasonably priced compared to other 2-in-1 laptops
- Sturdy build
CONS
- WUXGA display is a bit square
- 720p webcam
- Don't expect much from its GPU
Specs:
- CPU / Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS
- GPU / Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti
- RAM / Memory: 16GB DDR5
- Storage: 1TB SSD
- Display: 13.4″ WUXGA 120Hz 500nits IPS Touchscreen
It’s not the biggest or the grandest among the ROG family, but the ROG Flow X13 from Asus hits all the right notes. You get a beefy Ryzen 9 CPU and a somewhat decent gaming GPU with RTX capabilities. Just don’t expect much from such an entry-level GPU.
Consider that as a bonus to the stylus pen and flexibility. The price is reasonable enough and you also get DDR5 memory, which is great to have especially since more and more applications are starting to make use of this new generation of RAM. As usual, you’ll find the Asus build quality here in full splendor, almost as if they’re bragging about their style.
And even then, the “gamer” aesthetics are still subtle enough for professional environments.
Microsoft Surface Pro 9
PROS
- Good screen resolution
- Good refresh rate
- Kickstand keyboard
- Detachable screen
- Beautiful display
CONS
- Poor battery life
- Expensive
Specs:
- CPU / Processor: Intel Core i7-1255U
- GPU / Graphics Card: Integrated
- RAM / Memory: 16GB
- Storage: 1TB
- Display: 13″ 2880 X 1920, 120Hz
The price tag is certainly steep for this gem, but it has some nifty features that justify it. For one, it has a detachable screen in case you want to minimize its bulk even more. This allows for more versatile configurations that can help you travel or use it easier, even when lying down.
Other than that, it has some impressive visuals thanks to Microsoft’s premium engineering. The keyboard can also act as a kickstand for a more secure upright screen position, especially when drawing or writing with the stylus pen. Still, due to the Intel CPU, don’t expect it to excel at modern gaming.
HP Envy x360 2-in-1
PROS
- Big screen for a 2-in-1
- Generous RAM
- Generous storage
- AMD integrated GPU is decent for gaming
- Lots of options for reduced pricing
CONS
- Included stylus pen can be lackluster
Specs:
- CPU / Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 5825U
- GPU / Graphics Card: Integrated
- RAM / Memory: 64GB
- Storage: 2TB SSD
- Display: 15.6″ Full HD Touchscreen
Of course, when it comes to 2-in-1 laptops with included stylus pens, HP isn’t backing down from the fight. It has a popular contender in the Envy x360 lineup. The 2022 version sports a robust Ryzen 7 CPU and a jaw-dropping generosity in RAM as well as storage.
That means it’s great for multitasking and seeing as it’s a 2-in-1, you’ll be opening programs like there’s no tomorrow here. You could also settle for less RAM if you don’t need it so you can reduce the price further. Apart from that, it has one of the biggest screens among the 2-in-1 laptops here, which is rather significant and allows you to multitask better.
Lenovo Flex 5
PROS
- Reasonably priced
- Good RAM for the price
- AMD integrated GPU is decent for gaming
- Good touchscreen for the price
CONS
- Pen is poor
- Storage could be better
Specs:
- CPU / Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 5500U
- GPU / Graphics Card: Integrated
- RAM / Memory: 16GB
- Storage: 512GB
- Display: 14.0″ FHD Touch Display
2-in-1 laptops with stylus pen models need not be expensive. Lenovo makes a good example of this point with the Flex 5. This 2022 laptop model comes with a decent-sized display and a good Ryzen 5 CPU. You can even get away with using it as a light gaming machine.
With its price point of sub-$600, there had to be some compromises, of course. The stylus isn’t as good as the more expensive models and the storage could use one more stick of NVMe SSD. But it’s still a good deal overall, especially for the included hardware.
