Lenovo is back at it again with some reputable mid-range to budget high-end gaming laptops. This time around, they equipped the Legion Pro 5i with a beefy Intel CPU, along with an RTX 4070. In all honesty, the CPU is the more impressive piece of hardware here since it was also paired with 32GB of RAM for seamless computing and multitasking performance.

Everything else checks out and is a good match for one another. The QHD display is notable for having a 240 Hz refresh rate. This can also be a great all-around laptop given its i9 CPU and generous RAM modules.

If you want every cool new feature from current-gen high-end laptops crammed into one package but with a non-flagship GPU, then of course, the Razer Blade 16 will hit the right spots. The most important feature here (one that also bloated up the price) is the mini-LED display, which, again, is an even better tech than OLED.

The CPU is also notable as it’s second only to the best of the best in the current-gen Intel processor lineup for laptops. Apart from that, you get a beautiful CNC Aluminum chassis from Razer and it’s by far the most aesthetically pleasing in the laptop industry.

What if you want a pretty screen but at a lower price? Razer’s out of the question, of course. You’re better off going for the Gigabyte Aero 16 OLED Notebook. It features the next best thing to mini-LED, OLED, which was the high-end craze back in the previous generation of gaming laptops.

Sadly, there are some major drawbacks due to the price. This OLED screen only has a 60 Hz panel though to make up for it, it also sports a 4K resolution, which is more than enough for some. All the other specs are impressive, especially the CPU.

The usual price of a gaming laptop with an XX70-tier GPU is around $1,500 to $1,800. Anything above that is a little too premium (at least that’s how it went with the previous-gen). Luckily, Gigabyte is keeping with that pricing standard with its Aorus 15 line.

There are compromises such as the i7 instead of the i9 along with just 16GB of RAM but that’s to be expected for such a big price difference. Besides, those differences don’t affect performance too much, especially since the RTX 4070 will still be the primary dictating factor for gaming.

If anything, the QHD screen with a 165 Hz refresh rate is quite surprising given the price.

In case you ever wanted to feel amazing with how much you saved up in purchasing an RTX 4070 gaming laptop, then the MSI Katana 15 is a perfect choice. At the time of writing, it’s the most affordable RTX 4070 laptop though it does come with some caveats that could be dealbreakers for some.

The CPU is a previous-gen i7 though it’s still capable and considered high-end. Aside from that, the display is relatively outdated compared to other RTX 4070 laptops. 1080p at 144 Hz is a bit low as a combination though it’s easily fixed using a monitor (which adds up to the expense).

Still, the most important part is that it comes equipped with an RTX 4070 and sells for a sub $1,500 price point which is the peak of the mid-range segment.
