One of the many underrated factors in increasing your productivity is monitor placement. You’ll be staring at it for a big chunk of the day, so getting it right is crucial not just for your productivity but also for your posture. Sadly, most monitor stands are too limited, monitor desk mounts, on the other hand, give you more arrangement freedom.
They’re also inexpensive ways to tweak your workstation. Want to put your monitor at standing height? That’s possible as well. But more than anything, monitor desk mounts take the monitor off your desk, so that there’s more space in your workspace.
Consider the following monitor desk mounts for your workstation, regardless of how many monitors you have.

Give your monitor the freedom you never knew you needed with this particularly popular mount from China. The North Bayou monitor desk mount is a full-motion emplacement that lets you place your monitor wherever (there’s a certain height and reach limit though).
It’s easy to install and accommodates the two VESA mount crew sizes. The hydraulic arm is also easy to adjust though you might want to give your table a lot of rear space since this mount typically rests at an elbow position.
HUANUO Dual Monitor Stand
PROS
- Sturdy
- Has cable management
- Full-motion monitor mount
- Accommodates smaller monitors
- Good distance between the two arms
- Easy to install
CONS
- Screw adjustment is rigid
- Elbow can be rigid or stubborn
- Bad instructions
Features:
- For 13″ to 27″ monitors
- Each arm holds 4.4 lbs. to 14.3 lbs.
- VESA compliant 75×75mm & 100×100mm
- Full motion
Having two monitors that you can arrange freely is always better than just one. So the Huanuo Dual Monitor Stand might be the more optimal choice for those with multiple monitor setups. Each arm is a bit weaker than the North Bayou single but it’s close enough performance-wise.
There’s also a cable management section for each arm and it looks more tidy or sturdy compared to North Bayou’s. The installation and adjustment are also similar to that of North Bayou, meaning it’s a breeze though it can feel rigid or stubborn.
VIVO Black Fully Adjustable Single Computer Monitor and Laptop Desk Mount Combo
PROS
- Sturdier than a hydraulic mount
- Has cable management
- Accommodates smaller monitors
- Accommodates up to 32-inch monitors
- Easy to install
- 3-year manufacturer warranty
- Comes in white
CONS
- Holes on the laptop mount are to small for ventilation
- Some included screws were inadequate
- Main pole is a little short
Features:
- For 13” to 32” monitors
- 22 lbs. max weight
- VESA compliant 75×75mm & 100×100mm
- Tilt, swivel, height adjustment, and rotation
For those who have an extra laptop or have no computer and only use a laptop, this is probably the best setup. It’s a laptop pedestal and a monitor desk mount combined into one. It also comes with cable management hooks to keep things tidy.
Due to the pole design, however, this kind of desk mount is too limited in its application and position. You’ll have to allot more desk space for it since you can’t just sweep it out of the way like you would with the hydraulic arm mounts. Still, the laptop mount is a thoughtful touch.
VIVO Extra Tall Single Monitor Desk Mount
PROS
- Extra tall for standing position
- Accommodates up to 32-inch monitors
- Accommodates smaller monitors
- Easy to install
- 3-year manufacturer warranty
- Comes in white
CONS
- Some included screws were inadequate
- Might slant from heavier monitors
- It's tedious or clunky to adjust the height
Features:
- For 13” to 32” monitors
- 22 lbs. max weight
- VESA compliant 75×75mm & 100×100mm
- Tilt, swivel, height adjustment, and rotation
Speaking of mounts being too short, VIVO invented something that compensated for that shortcoming. Here’s their extra tall model for those who prefer to work standing up but eventually get tired and will sit back down after an hour or so. It also has a default sitting height.
It has everything included in the short version though this one is presumably made to be thicker and sturdier due to the increased height. Just take note of the monitor’s weight since this thing has less rigidity due to the height as well.
